Jerry Gloss, AIA

Principal, KGA Architectural Studio,

Louisville, CO

Jerry is a Senior Partner and head of KGA Studio

Architects, PC (formerly Knudson Gloss Architects)

award-winning Production Design Studio. He joined the

firm in 1986; 3 years later Jerry was named partner.

Jerry’s early career as a builder has been influential in

achieving a reputation for creating value driven designs,

providing service oriented working relationships, and

understanding the necessity and benefit to a design/

build team. The blending of market awareness,

design innovation, budget sensitivity, and construction

knowledge provides KGA’s clients with a strong sales

advantage. Jerry is recognized nationally as a housing

industry speaker addressing issues of market-driven

design, builder/architect relationships, the design-build

process, and cost effective design methods.

Lisa Hall

Community Development Director, Forest City

Stapleton, Inc. 
Denver, CO

Ms. Hall began working for Forest City in 1997 and

is now responsible for Stapleton’s residential for-

sale program. Responsibilities include creating and

maintaining the overall segmentation program, setting

lot prices, selecting and contracting with Builders

and coordinating land sales. Ms. Hall oversees the

architectural design direction of each neighborhood

and approves lotting and colors on a street by street

basis. She is also on the Board of Directors for

Stapleton Design, Inc., is a design review member

on the Stapleton Design Review Committee, and is

on the Design Review Board for the Stapleton Master

Community Association. Prior to joining Forest City,

Ms. Hall served as a litigation paralegal for several law

firms in Denver.

Jeffrey T. Lafetra, AIA

President, Bassenian Lagoni Architects,

Newport Beach, CA

A licensed Architect with more than 35 years of design

and management experience, Jeff joined Bassenian

Lagoni in 1995. Over the last twenty years, Jeff has

also focused his management attention on the firm’s

international practice, with a particular emphasis

in China. These efforts enabled the firm to build an

internationally recognized brand for design excellence

and client service. Today, his multi-disciplined, global

background enables Jeff to readily assess business and

client needs in the domestic and international markets.

Jeff also devotes his time and talent to industry

organizations: the National Association of Home

Builders (NAHB), the California Building Industry

Foundation (CBIF), the Building Industry Association,

the Seniors Housing Council, and the Home Builders

Council.

Laura McNulty

Associate Editor, Residential Construction Group

Hanley Wood Business Media –

BUILDER Magazine, Washington, D.C.

Laura McNulty is an associate editor for the residential

construction group at Hanley Wood Media, where

she works on Builder, Custom Home, and Multifamily

Executive magazines. She joined the company

approximately one year ago to produce digital and

print content for the design and construction industry,

particularly focusing on new building products and

technologies, design trends and best practices,

innovative residential projects, and green building

initiatives.

Michael Lander

Principal, Lander Group – Urban Development,

San Francisco

Michael Lander is a real estate developer and broker,

urban planner, speaker, new urbanism advocate, and

expert on Smart Growth and transportation policy.

As founder and president of Lander Group, a

Minneapolis-based real estate development firm

specializing in urban infill projects, he leads the

planning, design, and development of commercial,

residential, and mixed-use developments across the

Midwest and California. Lander Group, alone and in

partnerships with other firms, has designed, developed

and sold over 500 units and $100 million dollars

of infill residential/mixed-use projects, both new

construction and substantial renovations or adaptive

reuse.

Andrew Suzuki AIA

President, Suzuki Designs,

Irvine, CA

Andrew Y. Suzuki was born and raised in Los Angeles

where he attended public schools until leaving to study

at the University of California, Berkeley. An honors

student, he graduated with a BA in architecture, then

continued his education at UCLA where he studied to

attain his Masters degree.

Leaving graduate school, his first position was

with Walter Richardson Associates, later known as

Richardson-Nagy-Martin, and finally as RNM. Over

the course of his 30+ year career, Suzuki served in

an executive capacity as either Director of Design

or Director of Architecture for three of the largest

residential architectural firms in the country. Under his

design and direction, those firms designed homes in 7

foreign countries and 22 states worth over $2 billion

dollars.

Suzuki is currently designing multifamily and single

family projects throughout Southern California, as well

as many custom homes in resort communities.

Suzuki has been a guest lecturer and judge at

Industry events and award programs. He is licensed in

California, holds an NCARB certificate, and belongs to

the BIA/SC and BIA San Diego.
